That is quite the upbeat Google Doodle on Ignaz Semmelweis and hand washing this morning. Let's not forget the tragic part of the story where he was vilified and institutionalized for speaking the truth. There's a particular poignancy to that in light of our continuing insistence upon shooting the messenger.
